Modesto, CA, band instructor put on leave --- May 17, 2002
Deidra Ann Brauns, 29, already cited for furnishing alcoholic beverages to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, could face felony charges on allegations that she showed pornographic videos to students in her home and at a hotel. First-year band leader Brauns allegedly took three students -- two boys and one girl -- to the hotel for the night. There have been no reports of sexual activity between the teacher and her students.
